Dear Sweet Veronica,
In case you didn’t know, you are the absolute light of my world. I am so grateful you shared your life with me, and so proud you call me your “umpa”. You lifted my spirit after your great-grandfather Ed passed away – I see so much of him in you. You have a gift for making everyone feel special and loved, with so much compassion for others. You give me hope for the future and strength going into each and every day. I promise to carry your love, compassion, and spirit with me always. I miss you so much during this time that we are apart but I look forward to the day when we will once again be together.

Your “Umpa” Marc
Well I can tell you so many things but one that just made me cry again, so I sit here with tears running down my face as I write this, is singing with Veronica, particularly a song I learned with her and Erica and so it is inextricably linked to them. The words were sweet before and now I sob every time I hear them.

May there always be me.
